FAQ
Shoe Care: How to Wash and Dry Scholl Shoes
Sanitary clogs can be washed and sanitized with water and soap and/or specific disinfectants like antibacterial sprays. Scholl's professional shoes can also be sanitized at the base of the removable insole. As for the insole, warm water alone is sufficient. Let them air dry after washing. In case of stubborn stains, you can use a soft brush.
Sanitary clogs can be air-dried or dried using a cloth or towel. It's essential to ensure they are completely dry before wearing them again to prevent the proliferation of bacteria and fungi. Avoid using heat sources such as dryers or heaters, as they may damage the clog's structure.
Classic wooden clogs require special care. To clean them, use a damp cloth with mild soap, gently rubbing to remove any stains. Avoid using aggressive chemicals or alcohol-based disinfectants, especially on leather parts, to prevent damage to both the wood and buckles. After cleaning, allow them to air dry and never use a washing machine or dryer.
To wash rubber clogs, remove dirt with a brush or cloth, then dip a sponge in soapy water and gently scrub the clog's surface. Rinse with clean water and dry with a clean towel. Avoid excessive heat exposure.
How to Wash Slippers and Flip-Flops
There are different models of Scholl slippers, so the cleaning procedures vary depending on the material they are made of, such as wood, rubber, cork, or leather. Generally, you can follow specific material cleaning procedures, but the common step is to remove most of the dirt with a brush or dry cloth and prefer air drying while avoiding dryers and direct hot air streams.
To wash slippers in the washing machine, first remove any removable parts like insoles or innersoles. Place the slippers in a laundry bag or a pillowcase and wash with cold water. Use a gentle cycle and air dry them, avoiding direct sunlight and excessive heat.
To wash cork slippers, use a sponge or soft cloth dampened with a mixture of lukewarm water and mild detergent to clean the cork surface. Rinse with clean water and dry with a towel. Avoid excessive heat exposure.
To clean leather slippers, use a cloth dampened with a mixture of lukewarm water and mild detergent to gently clean the leather surface. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft towel. Apply a specific cream to maintain the leather's softness and shine.
To wash flip-flops, immerse them in soapy water. Gently scrub the surface with a soft brush, then rinse thoroughly and let them air dry, avoiding direct sunlight.
Flip-flops can also be washed in a washing machine, but it's essential to remove any pebbles and coarse particles first. Use a gentle cycle and a non-aggressive detergent. Do not use an electric dryer; always let them air dry.
How to Wash Sandals
To clean sandals, remove any stains from the surface with a brush and a gentle detergent and lukewarm water. Allow them to air dry. For disinfection, you can use a specific spray and let it sit for at least 5 minutes, then rinse with clean water and let them air dry. Ensure you do not immerse wooden or leather parts.
To clean the soles of leather sandals, remove dirt with a brush. Use a soft cloth dampened with water and detergent to clean the sole. Wipe off the detergent with a clean, damp cloth and then dry with a dry cloth. Avoid immersing the sole in water or using aggressive chemicals that may damage the leather.
How to Clean Slippers
Before washing slippers, remove dust by gently tapping them with your hands, then soak them in a solution of lukewarm water and neutral soap. Use a soft brush to scrub, rinse thoroughly, and let them air dry.
Slippers can be washed in the washing machine, but it's important to remove any small foreign objects from the sole. Use the gentle cycle and wash with a neutral detergent. Do not use the electric dryer; instead, let them air dry, avoiding direct sunlight.
How to Clean Sneakers
To clean sneakers, remove the laces and brush away dust. Then, soak a sponge in warm water with mild fabric detergent and gently clean the sneakers, using a soft brush if needed to remove stubborn stains. Rinse thoroughly and let them air dry.
To clean leather sneakers, remove dust with a soft cloth, and then clean them with a solution of lukewarm water and mild soap. Use a cloth to apply the solution and lightly scrub any stains. Rinse thoroughly and let them air dry.
How to Clean Boots and Loafers
Use a specific product for cleaning leather boots. Apply the product with a soft cloth and gently clean the boots, trying not to saturate the surface excessively. Afterward, let them air dry away from heat sources.
Use a special suede brush or a soft sponge to remove surface dirt from suede loafers. Gently pass the brush or sponge over the suede surface, being careful not to damage the material's fibers. If there are persistent stains, you can use a specific suede cleaner, which you can find at shoe stores or supermarkets.
How to Use Insoles with Scholl Shoes
Sneakers with removable insoles are the most suitable for inserting orthopedic insoles. Additionally, sneakers with a thick, cushioned sole can also be beneficial in providing arch support.
The insoles have a rigid bottom surface and a soft top surface. Ensure that the soft surface faces your foot and the rigid surface faces the bottom of the shoe. Once you have inserted the insole into the shoe, gently press on the top to make it conform to the shape of your foot. Make sure the insole is correctly positioned to provide proper heel support and arch support.
